Just Imagine Day Nursery and Out of School Club – Wickford – Station Avenue
Age groups
Our rooms are split up into three different age groups to offer the best level of care and learning for their age.
Baby Room – 0 to 2 years
We can cater for 12 babies between the ages of 6 weeks and 2 years.
We have four staff who work in the baby room, meeting the 1:3 ratio adult to child.
We provide a happy, homely and loving environment.
On their first settle sessions we discuss with the parent their home routine and we work our best to incorporate this into nursery life. As each baby has a different routine at home we believe that by having a flexible approach to our routine enables staff to meet their individual needs.
Staff within the baby room follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) to ensure that all babies are supported with regards to the three prime areas:
*Personal, social and emotional development
*Comuunication and language development
*Physical development
Toddler Room – 2 to 3 years
We cater for up to 10 toddlers between the ages of 2 to 3 years.
We have three members of staff who work in the toddler room, meeting the 1:4 ratio adult to child.
The toddler room provides a stimulating enviroment, which enables children to develop and learn skills through following the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
The main focus of children’s development are the three prime areas of the EYFS ( Personal, social and emotional development, comuunication and language development and physical development), however through extending childen’s learning we do incorperate further aspects fo the EYFS (Mathematics, literacy, understanding the world, expressive arts and design).
The toddler room incorperate topics in which children explore and learn through their interests, also incorperating a makaton sign of the week.
The staff will provide a variety of activities that will encourage your child’s development. The main principle of the nursery is for the children to learn through play.
Pre-School Room – 3 to 5 years
We cater for up to 32 children between the ages of 3-5 years.
We have four members of staff who work in the pre school room, meeting the 1:8 ratio adult to child.
The pre school room provides a stimulating environment, which enables children to develop and learn skills through following the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
All areas of the EYFS are focussed on, ensuring that childrens learning is always challenged and extended, enabling them to progress in their development.
The pre school room incorperate topics in which children explore and learn through their interests, also incoperating a makaton sign of the week.
The staff will provide a variety of activities that will encourage your child’s development. The main principle of the nursery is for the children to learn through play.
We have close links with local schools, therefore are able to follow a good school readiness programme to ensure that transistion between nursery and school runs effectively.
