EYFS – Early Years Foundation Stage

As a full day care setting registered with Ofsted we must follow the guidelines set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage. This ensures we are running our establishment correctly to these guidelines and giving our best skills and knowledge to the children that attend. We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and on our last inspection we had a ‘good’ rating.

Outside Play

We have an outdoor area that has a variety of equipment and toys to play with. Staff also encourage children to get involved  in group games like parachute play and ball games. We use our outdoor areas as an extension of learning and involve the children in educational activities such as planting and growing , insect searching with magnifying glasses and cooking dinner in the mud kitchen. The children go outside in all weathers if they have the appropriate clothing for example, sun hat and sun screen or wellies and raincoat.
